Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 May 2025  ·  Effective: 15 May 2025

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:

2. Acceptance of Terms

By depositing a piece with Chimely or agreeing in writing to proceed with a service, the Client accepts these Terms in full. Clients must be aged 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement.

3. Service Description

Chimely offers three services as described on this website: crystal polishing and light refinish; dial refinishing and hand refitting; and pocket watch and complication restoration. Services are available to clients in Thailand and to clients who arrange courier delivery at their own cost.

4. Assessment and Agreement

Before any repair work begins, Chimely will issue a written assessment setting out the proposed scope and fixed price. No work commences until the Client has confirmed agreement in writing (by email or message). If the assessment reveals work beyond the original scope during the repair process, Chimely will contact the Client before proceeding. No additional work is carried out without a second written agreement.

5. Pricing and Payment

Prices are stated in Thai Baht (฿) and are fixed for the stated scope of each service. Payment is due on collection of the piece. Chimely accepts bank transfer and cash. Prices stated on the website may be updated periodically; the price applicable to a piece is that confirmed in the written assessment.

6. Turnaround Times

Turnaround times stated on the website (1–2 days for crystal work, approximately 3 weeks for dial refinishing, 8–12 weeks for pocket watch restoration) are realistic estimates based on typical work requirements. Chimely will advise if a piece requires more time than the standard estimate, and will not release a piece before the work is properly completed.

7. Client Responsibilities

8. Original Parts

Where parts are removed or replaced during a service, the original components will be retained and returned to the Client with the piece at collection. Chimely does not discard original parts without the Client's explicit agreement.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Chimely website — including text, images, and design — is owned by Chimely and may not be reproduced without written permission. Clients retain full ownership of any pieces deposited for repair.

10. Liability and Disclaimers

Chimely takes reasonable care with all pieces in its custody. In the event of loss or damage caused directly by workshop error, Chimely's liability is limited to the cost of the service agreed. Chimely is not liable for pre-existing faults not disclosed at the time of deposit, for changes in the condition of aged or antique components during careful disassembly, or for any indirect or consequential losses.

Services are described accurately, but Chimely does not commit to results beyond what is technically feasible for a given piece. A written assessment will be issued if any limitations apply.

11. Termination and Cancellation

The Client may withdraw a piece before work has begun, at no charge. Once the assessment has been agreed and work has started, the Client is liable for costs proportional to the work completed. Chimely reserves the right to decline a piece for service if, on inspection, the work falls outside its scope or would require resources it does not hold.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes arising from services provided by Chimely shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts, with Bangkok as the agreed forum. Chimely encourages informal resolution of any concerns before legal proceedings are considered — please contact [email protected] in the first instance.

13. Changes to These Terms

Chimely may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Continued use of the website or deposit of a piece after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
